ABOUT THE POSITION

Summary of Key Requirements:

We are seeking a candidate with a strong analytical background and specific expertise in the following areas:

  1. Knowledge in Price Elasticity of Demand: Understanding how changes in price affect the demand for products.
  2. Model Development Experience: Proficiency in building models from scratch, including time series analysis, regression, and forecasting models.
  3. Industry Experience: Direct experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) or Retail industry, demonstrating an understanding of the sector’s unique challenges and opportunities.

These foundational requirements are critical for success in the role, along with the detailed responsibilities and skills outlined below.


Responsibilities:

  • Data Processing and Analysis:
    • Process and analyze both structured and unstructured data to identify trends and patterns through data exploration.
    • Develop predictive models and machine learning algorithms; conduct evaluations to select optimal models.
  • Solution Development:
    • Design and prototype AI/ML product solutions to address customer issues.
  • Visualization and Presentation:
    • Utilize data visualization techniques to present insights effectively.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with engineering and product development teams to bring AI models into production environments.

Requirements:

  • Educational Background:
    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant analytical field.
    • A minimum of 2 years of domain experience in retail and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG).
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Proficient in data science programming with Python (including pandas, writing classes, and model productionization) and SQL.
    • Experienced in Statistical Modeling, Machine Learning, prototyping, QA/testing, Data Interpretation, and Visualization.
    • Capable of effectively presenting data and storytelling with data.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong presentation skills.
    • Ability to communicate complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Skills:

  • Core Skills:
    • Proficiency in Python, Cloud Engineering, SQL, basic ML algorithms, and working with transactional and time series data.
    • Familiarity with simple UI designs.
    • Comprehensive understanding of large-scale software and system architecture.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Advanced Technical Skills:
    • Experience with Python ML tools such as Pytorch, Tensorflow, Jupyter Notebooks, Pandas, scikit-learn, and Numpy.
    • Experience with Spark and UI development tools like Flask, Plotly, Streamlit.
    • Understanding of continuous integration, testing, deployment, and release methodologies.
    • Participation in Kaggle competitions is a plus.
